Welcome to Phoenix Backpackers Jeffrey's Bay South Africa Phoenix Backpackers is one of the oldest remaining houses in Jeffrey's Bay. It was built in the 1870's by Englishman George Pell and used to be known as the Phoenix Hotel, General Store and Fishery. After many years the Phoenix has been resurrected, opening in 2006 as Phoenix Backpackers. With its spacious rooms, ample parking and verandahs, the house has the perfect design for a backpackers. It is also conveniently situated in a largely commercialised area close to all the amenities a visitor may need. Ultimately, backpackers who stay at the Phoenix will leave with memories of more than just Jeffrey's Bay's sun, sand and surf. They will also have glimpsed the past and have gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the area and its people. |
